HUNTING SUCCESS:

Statistics prove that an average of three animals per seven day hunting safari are bagged at Kowas Adventure Safaris.

BLINDS:

The majority of successful bags are made from permanently constructed blinds. These are situated approximately 20 yards from waterholes and saltlicks. Some are elevated and some are ground blinds, depending on the terrain, sun and wind direction. Blinds are spacious, with overhead roofs, and ports are adjustable to suit both sitting and standing archers. Animals are bagged regularly by using this method.

SPOTTING AND STALKING:

The animals are located while cruising in a 4X4-hunting vehicle. A large area can be covered, without losing valuable hunting time walking through dead terrain. Once game has been spotted, the stalk is planned, and the vehicle drives off, leaving the hunter and his guide in a suitable position.

Once the stalk is completed, the vehicle can be called back by radio. A hunter can also select an active trail used by a specific animal and erecting a temporary blind.

(Stalking):

This method is used for animals that do not frequent the waterholes. This method is suitable for the patient hunter. This is the ultimate way of experiencing nature in its full capacity.

RECOMMENDATION:

Best bow hunting times are during the drier months of the year, namely August, September, October and November.
